Non-commissioned officer returns belongings to owner
PANO – Major Pham Cong Thanh, a non-commissioned officer of Flotilla 314 of Brigade 161 under Naval Region 3, returned a leather wallet with important papers and cash to Truong Van Hoang from Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city.
Earlier, at 6:00 on August 22, while on the way to the barracks, Major Pham Cong Thanh saw the leather wallet in front of the gate of Naval Region 3’s guest house at No.98 Yet Kieu road, Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city.
Major Thanh discovered that there were VND 60 million in cash and many important personal papers named Truong Van Hoang (including a driving license, health insurance card, ID card, and so on) inside the leather wallet.
Immediately, he reported the case to the duty officer of Brigade 161 to find and return the leather wallet to the right owner. Receiving his belongings, Mr. Hoang felt happy and sent thanks to Major Thanh for his good deed. The officer’s deed enriched the beautiful virtues and traditions of Uncle Ho’s soldiers and strengthened the military-civilian solidarity.
According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh, Political Commissar of Brigade 161, Major Pham Cong Thanh is an exemplary officer, strictly observing military discipline and the unit’s regulations. Since 2018, he has always completed all assigned missions and received many titles and awards.
