Naval troops support fishermen
PANO – Naval Region 1 and the Nam Dinh provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development co-organized a program to support fishermen on July 24 in Nam Dinh province.

During the event, the organizers distributed leaflets and held information dissemination drives to help fishermen embrace the important role of national seas and islands as well as Vietnam’s legal documents on seas, marine resource exploitation and safe and sustainable fishing in line with the promulgated laws while protecting the marine environment.
Naval troops also briefed fishermen on situational developments at sea, fishermen’s violations of the Vietnamese and international laws as well as support activities of the Vietnam People’s Army for fishermen.
On the occasion, leaders of Naval Region 1 and Naval Commando Brigade 126 presented life buoys, medical cabinets and gifts to 140 fishermen. Medical staff of the units provided free health checkups, medicines and health counseling for them.
