* Implementing a program to boost the military-civilian ties, the Military Command of Bac Kan province worked with the provincial Department of Health to provide free health check-ups and health consultancy for policy beneficiaries and needy people in My Thanh commune.
In addition, the unit also presented 21 gifts, worth VND 100 million, to families of policy beneficiaries and national contributors.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 31st anniversary of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day (December 22).
* The Military Logistics Academy, in association with local authorities, on November 11 presented a gratitude house to a martyr’s relatives in Quynh Hung commune, Quynh Phu district, Thai Binh province.
The recipient, Vu Thi Xiem, a relative of martyr Nguyen Van Phong who sacrificed his life during the resistance war against U.S. imperialists, had faced housing difficulty.
After three months of construction, the 65-sqm house was built at a cost of VND 80 million from the “Gratitude Fund” of the unit.
At the event, Deputy Political Commissar of the Military Logistics Academy, Senior Colonel Le Thanh Long handed over the house to Vu Thi Xiem. In addition, the local authorities presented other necessities to her family.
Building gratitude houses is one of the many practical activities of the unit's troops in response to the movement of "The whole people take care of wounded soldiers, martyrs, and national contributors' families."
