MND meets with national contributors from Vinh Long
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense (MND) on June 22 hosted a cordial reception for a delegation of national contributors of Vinh Long province during their visit to Hanoi. Senior Colonel Nguyen Xuan Yem, Deputy Director of the Department of Policy under the General Department of Politics chaired the meeting.
According to Pham Thi My Hanh, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs, most of the delegates were former war prisoners who demonstrated their courage and indomitable spirit in enemies’ prisons during resistance wars for national salvation. In peacetime, they are bright examples in the production and national construction cause.
Delegates receiving the MND's gifts
In the wars against French colonists and American imperialists, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Vinh Long armed forces and people promoted unity and patriotic tradition, fostered people’s war, and closely cooperated with regular forces in fighting enemies for the liberation of South Vietnam and national reunification.
Over the past years, national contributors in the province have promoted the glorious tradition to contribute to local socio-economic and cultural development.
At the meeting, the delegates appreciated the MND’s reception as well as troops’ good care for national contributors nationwide. They hoped military units would continue their gratitude activities for troops’ families and national contributors, making contributions to raising their material and spiritual life.
