Military-civilian ties in Yen Bai province
PANO - After days of helping flood-hit people in Yen Bai province overcome the aftermath of the third storm, Military Region 2 (MR2)’s troops returned to their units to continue their duties.
Early in the morning, despite heavy rains, many people in Yen Bai city gathered along the streets to bid farewell to the officers and soldiers, who had braved heavy rain and strong floodwater flow to protect the people’s lives and property.

Passing through the main streets of Yen Bai city, such as Nguyen Thai Hoc, Hong Ha, Yen Ninh, and Nguyen Tat Thanh, the vehicles carrying MR2’s troops received cheers from locals.
Nguyen Thi Thanh from Nguyen Thai Hoc ward, Yen Bai city, shared that the images of troops during the past 12 days and nights were deeply ingrained in the hearts of people of Yen Bai province.

Like other people from Nguyen Thai Hoc ward, Nguyen Duc Quang and Pham Thi Kim Oanh thanked localities and forces across the country and international friends for their active and timely support. MR2’s armed forces mobilized more than 1,000 troops and vehicles and equipment, donated more than 12,000 working days to help people clean up mud, clear roads and traffic jams, and searched for and rescued people in flood-hit areas, to name but a few.
