In that situation, love and compatriotism shine through touching stories. Accordingly, the Binh Dinh provincial Military Command adopted 17 needy children who lost their relatives or caretakers due to the pandemic, helping them have a brighter future.

In a small house in Tam Quan ward, Hoai Nhon town, there are only three people, Ho Thi Menh and her two children. Her spouse, Le Thanh Phong, born in 1977, passed away in December 2021 due to COVID-19.

Ho Thi Menh and her daughter Le Ho My Duyen visit troops of the Hoai Nhon town Military Command.

Previously, Menh’s family borrowed VND 200 million from a bank to do business. However, the pandemic badly affected their economy. Menh held that since the death of her spouse, she has had to both earn money for everyday life and pay bank debt with a limited salary. She has sometimes wanted to give up.

Sharing difficulties with her family, the Military Command of Hoai Nhon town under the Binh Dinh provincial Military Command adopted her daughter according to the program “Adopting orphans of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

During her first days at the unit without family, Truong Ngoc Anh Tuyet, born in 2013, from An Tuong Tay commune, Hoai An district, cried so much because she missed her mother. Tuyet’s mother is Nguyen Thi Chuyen Can, who died due to COVID-19 in 2021 when her family members had to quarantine in different areas. Can was treated alone at Quy Nhon city General Hospital and then passed away.

Tuyet shocked when learning about her mother’s death. She was then taken care of by the An Lao district Military Command of the Binh Dinh provincial Military Command. Since then, her academic results have improved. Every month, in addition to handing over an amount of money to support Tuyet, local troops also visit and encourage her.

These noble deeds of the troops of the Binh Dinh provincial Military Command not only change the children’s life, but also tighten military-civilian ties, and beautify the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
