The flood has not only damaged crops, but also killed or swept away poultry and cattle. The total damage is estimated at hundreds of millions of VND. Many houses in Le Thuy district have been deeply submerged in floodwater.

On October 19, troops of the armed forces promptly rescued, provided relief and evacuated flood-hit people to safer areas.

Earlier, despite heavy rain, the rescue force of the Military Command of Quang Binh province saved hundreds of people trapped along the Kien Giang river.
