The fisherman given timely emergency aid

The patient, Mai Xuan Lanh aged 63, had continuous abdominal pain in the right iliac fossa, causing difficulty for him to defecate. The symptom had appeared for 13 days.

Having examined and given the troubled fisherman an ultrasound scan, the medical staff of the Song Tu Tay island infirmary found a 12cmx6cm abnormal mass in the right iliac fossa and diagnosed him with an appendicular abscess. They later gave him antibiotic and aspirated 30ml of the abscess.

The patient has pain relief in the right iliac fossa now and receives further treatment at an isolated area on the island.

During the reception and treatment for the patient, the medical staff strictly observed the COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

Patient Mai Xuan Linh, a resident in Hoai Huong commune, Hoai Nhon district, Binh Dinh province, was on trawler BD 95802 TS owned by Nguyen Canh. The trawler sailed out the sea on January 2.
