We only hope to find the missing victims soon to ease the sorrow of their families.”

Having closely followed the troops for more than a week, Colonel Nguyen Huu Nang, Deputy Chief-of-Staff of the Lao Cai provincial Military Command, understood the difficulties and dangers his soldiers were facing. He kept a close eye on them, constantly reminding them to ensure their safety while carrying out the mission. Any soldier showing signs of fatigue was immediately taken to a shaded area by the medical team for care.
