Troops assisting people in Lang Giai hamlet in building a road

During two-week long program, more than 100 troops from Regiment 141 cooperated with local people to build a 500m long concrete road, a bridge, an enclosing wall, and sanitary projects at villages’ cultural houses. Troops also assisted policy families and needy households build their houses. 

Notably, the regiment worked with doctors and nurses from Military Hospital 110 of the Department of Logistics of Military Region 1 to provide free health examination, consultation, and medicines for 500 policy people and needy households in localities and spray mosquito repellents. The total cost of activities was more than VND 400 million.

The unit also collaborated with local party committees, authorities, and people to pay tribute to fallen soldiers at war cemeteries and visit and present gifts to policy families in the localities. 

Deputy Political Commissar of Regiment 141 Lieutenant Colonel Truong Duc Hieu said that fully aware that building new-style rural area is responsibility of each troop, the regiment annually organizes two field trips to conduct mass mobilization activities to help localities complete the building of new-style rural areas. Before each trip, the unit conducts survey of local situations and develops detailed plans so as to ensure its effectiveness, said Col. Hieu.

In spite of facing numerous difficulties, troops of Regiment 141 have shown their willingness and determination to join and complete the mass mobilization program. As a new participant in the volunteer event, Private Nguyen Ba Thiet from Company 9, Battalion 9, said that the trip has helped him understand more about locals’ difficulties, thus motivating him to make more contribution to the country and people. He added that although the weather was extremely hot, troops and locals tried their best to get work done.

Mr. Long Van Phinh in Khuoi Khao hamlet must be the person who deeply feels troops’ sentiment. Since his house is halfway up a mountain, Mr. Phinh had to walk on a high slope. In rainy days, the road was slippery and dangerous. Learning about Mr. Phinh’s difficult situation, Regiment 141 decided to build a 50m-long concrete path, connecting his house and rural road.

Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Chi Lang district Vi Quang Trung evaluated that the practical and significant activities of Regiment 141 have contributed to consolidating the relationship between the unit and local party committees, authorities, and people and beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the people’s heart. They have also helped localities overcome difficulties to promote socio-economic and cultural development and new-style rural area building and build strong political basis.

In spite of carrying out mission in difficult conditions, troops of Regiment 141, with their enthusiasm, responsibility, and determination, excellently completed all set targets, contributing to the implementation of the new-style rural area building program, enriching the unit’s tradition, and wining the heart of local party committees, authorities, and people.
