Early in the morning, the officers, staff, and Youth Union members of Unit 92 and Dong Son commune Youth Union Organization cleaned up the environment surrounding the memorial monument in dedication to heroic martyrs in A So valley, Dong Son commune, A Luoi district, Thua Thien Hue, mowing the lawn, repainting enclosing walls, cleaning memorial steles, etc. All of them devoted wholehearted efforts to express gratitude to martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of national construction and defense.
According to non-commissioned Major Le Ngoc Xuan, a staff of the Political Department of Unit 92, these activities have contributed to raising troops’ awareness of and responsibilities for preserving and restoring the memorial monuments. He also underlined that the unit will conduct more meaningful activities in the time to come.
Meanwhile, the unit inquired after and presented gifts to the family of Ms. Ho Thi Tu, the wife of a martyr, in Chi Lanh - A Roh village, Lam Dot commune, A Luoi district. Despite the scorching sun, troops and personnel of Unit 92 and local youths worked hard to build a new kitchen and sanitation facility for her family.
Additionally, Unit 92 visited and handed over gifts to policy beneficiaries, national contributors, and families in difficult conditions to encourage them to overcome their difficulties and stabilize their lives.
Upholding the tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source,” Unit 92 donated more than 200 working days to repair and clean up the environment at five monuments dedicated to heroes and martyrs, provided free health check-ups and medicines to local people, helped policy families repair their houses, and inquired after and offered gifts to national contributors and Orange Agent/dioxin victims. These activities have left deep impressions on the hearts of people in border areas.

Senior Colonel Luu Duc Chinh, Political Commissar of Unit 92, shared that stationed in border areas of Thua Thien Hue province, these days, Unit 92 has coordinated with local authorities to carry out gratitude activities and a candle-lighting ceremony to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs and show gratitude to national contributors in the locality.
These practical activities have contributed to educating troops and local people on the meaning of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day, heightening their responsibilities in organizing and implementing the Party and State’s guidelines and policies for national contributors, tightening military-civilian relationship, and securing political security and social order and safety in the locality, he added.
