The delegation pays tribute to fallen troops at An Giang provincial war cemetery.

The gratitude activity was in celebration of the 78th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944-2022) and 33 years of the All People Festive Day (December 22, 1989-2022)

At An Giang provincial war cemetery in An Chau townlet, Chau Thanh district, delegates offered flowers and incense to express their respect and gratitude for some 2,500 fallen troops resting in peace here, who had bravely fought against the enemy, sacrificed their lives to protect the Fatherland, gaining independence for the nation and bringing freedom and peace for the Vietnamese people.

The delegation promised to continue to strive, practice, stay united and show absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland, and the people and be determined to complete all duties assigned by the Party, State, and military.

Also in An Giang province, the delegation presented 20 gifts, worth VND 2 million each, to policy beneficiary families in Chau Thanh district.

At the gift handover ceremony, Major General Nguyen Van Gau emphasized the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense’s thoughtfulness and care for policy beneficiaries and national contributors through a wide range of activities, such as house building, presentation of thousands of savings books, provision of free health check-ups and medicines, and upgradation of facilities dedicated to fallen troops.

Major General Nguyen Van Gau stressed that these deeds have promoted the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army, the faithfulness, comradeship towards fallen troops and those devoting their lives to national independence and freedom and people’s happiness, contributing to improving spiritual and material life of policy beneficiaries and national contributors. These have also educate troops, especially young ones about the nation’s good traditions “When drinking water, remember its source,” and “Gratitude-paying.”

Earlier, Major General Nguyen Van Gau and his entourage visited and presented a gift to Senior Lieutenant General Bui Van Huan, former Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs.

The same day, a mission from the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its deputy chief Major General Pham Truong Son, paid tribute to fallen troops at ATK Dinh Hoa (Dinh Hoa Safety Zone) National Special Relic Site. The mission also gave 20 gifts to policy beneficiary families in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province.
