Visiting households whose homes were severely flooded and speaking with residents of Tuy Phuoc and Tuy Phuoc Dong communes, General Giang, on behalf of the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission (CMC), and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), expressed deep sympathy for the difficulties, hardships, and losses faced by flood-affected communities nationwide, particularly those in Gia Lai province. He affirmed that the Party, State, CMC, and MND have assessed the damage and directed relevant levels, sectors, Military Region 5, and Army Corps 34 to support localities and people in overcoming disaster consequences.
General Giang emphasized that much work remains after the floods. He noted that homes are damaged, production and livestock have suffered heavy losses. He urged local Party committees, authorities, the military, police, and residents to work together to recover. He emphasized that the military will provide transportation of construction materials and personnel to help households rebuild homes and reduce costs.
The defense chief expressed hope and confidence that residents of Tuy Phuoc, Tuy Phuoc Dong communes, and the wider Gia Lai community will uphold the spirit of mutual support, solidarity, and compassion to soon overcome flood damage and stabilize their lives.
On this occasion, General Giang presented 100 gift packages to residents of the two communes. The CMC and MND provided Gia Lai province with VND 10 billion, 10 tons of dry rations, 5,000 sets of clothing, 2,500 double mosquito nets, and 2,500 single mosquito nets.
In addition, the leadership of the Party, the and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front provided VND 20 billion to Gia Lai province; Hanoi city gave VND 50 billion to the city for post-flood recovery while Military Region 5 Command presented 40 gift packages to local residents.
