Five troubled fishermen rescued at sea
PANO – Quang Nam border troops on May 3 successfully saved five fishermen in distress in the waters of Cu Lao Cham, Quang Nam province and took them ashore safely.

Earlier, at 17:00 on May 2, a trawler numbered QNa 92675 TS with four crew-members on board, captained by Tran Dau, aged 50 from Duy Vinh commune, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province, sank while operating at sea, some seven nautical miles southeast of Hon Tai, Cu Lao Cham Island, Hoi An city.
After the accident, captain of the trawler sent a mayday signal for help.
Upon receiving the news, the Border Stations of Cua Dai and Cu Lao Cham under the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command cooperated with fishing boats near the scene to rescue the troubled fishermen. Also, the border stations contacted ships of Coast Guard Region 2 on duty at Cu Lao Cham for rescue missions.
Immediately, a fishing boat coded QNa 92347 TS, owned by Nguyen Quang Huy from Duy Vinh commune, approached the sinking trawler and promptly rescued five distressed fishermen.
At 21:00 on the same day, troops of Coast Guard Region 2 towed the distressed trawler ashore safely.
