Handing over 11 fishermen to the Da Nang provincial Border Guard |
Earlier, at 20:15 on March 9, the naval region received information from the Vietnam People's Navy’s Headquarters that trawler DNa90305-TS with 11 fishermen on board, captained by Dang Van Nham (born in 1973, from Thanh Khe district, Da Nang city) went adrift due to an engine failure while fishing about 73 nautical miles off the Southeast of Da Nang city.
After receiving the mayday signal, the Naval Region 3 Command sent its Ship 363 to the area for the search and rescue mission.
In spite of the harsh weather condition, troops of Ship 363 approached the trawler and took it safely ashore.
At 18:45 on March 10, 11 fishermen reached the mainland. The naval region command also encouraged and checked their health conditions before allowing them to return home.
