Since 2011, units across the military with their sentiment and responsibilities raised more than VND 200 billion for the “Gratitude Fund”, and built 7,000 homes of gratitude and comradeship worth nearly VND 450 billion. The whole army is also serving 1,776 Vietnamese heroic mothers, and has created jobs for wives and children of troops who died in action while special working teams have searched, collected and repatriated 10,000 sets of remains of fallen volunteer troops and experts from Laos and Cambodia to the country.

At the meeting, General Nghia affirmed that troops  in the whole army always remember the service and contributions of the armed forces and people of Tien Giang province, and hoped that revolution contributors always trust the Vietnam people’s Army that under the leadership of the Party will be united, have a consensus on both thought  and action, bring into full play the glorious revolutionary tradition of the Party, army and nation, and enhance the movement “Learning and following Ho Chi Minh’s thought, moral and style” in combination with the movement “Promoting traditions, devoting talents, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s Soldiers” launched by the Central Military Commission.

On behalf of the Defense Minister, General Nghia presented gifts to revolution contributors from Tien Giang province.
