“Coast guards stand side-by-side with fishermen” program reviewed
PANO - The Coast Guard Region 1 Command has just organized a conference to review the 2 years implementing “Coast guards stand side-by-side with fishermen” program in the 2017-2018 period.
In the past two years, the Coast Guard Region 1 Command in collaboration with local authorities organized various meaningful activities, including conducting law disseminating for more than 7,400 officials and fishermen, allocating 23,600 leaflets on laws to local people, launching four “I love the national seas and islands” contests, and sending 23 ships to save 109 distressed fishermen.
Besides, the unit also conducted many missions to visit and present gifts to 256 policy families, needy students; handed over 580 national flags, 360 life jackets, 170 round buoys, 20 bicycles to fishermen; as well as provided free health check-ups and medicines to 290 crew members.
