During the visit, the mission inquired after fishermen’s health and encouraged them to overcome difficulties. The delegates also handed over gifts, worth VND 1 million each, to 34 households in Tam Quang, Tam Xuan, Tam Tien, Tam Hoa, Tam My Tay, and Tam Giang communes of Nui Thanh district.
Reportedly, unseasonal heavy rains in late March and early April have caused huge losses to fishermen in Nui Thanh district, especially to fish farmers in estuaries and shrimp farms.
The flotilla’s visit and gift presentation to fishermen affected by recent downpour was one of the activities within the force’s ‘Coast guards stand by fishermen” program.
The activity demonstrated the unit’s care for and support to fishermen to overcome difficulties and its commitment to effectively carrying out the emulation movement, titled “Vietnamese Coast Guards join hands for the poor – No one is left behind.”
