During the program, the delegation from Coast Guard Region 4 collaborated with local authorities to provide information and disseminate laws related to the national sea and islands, as well as to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing to the local fishermen. The delegation also conducted environmental cleanup efforts, collecting garbage on the beach with participation of local residents.

During the event

On this occasion, Coast Guard Region 4 presented 20 gift packages to families with difficult circumstances and policy beneficiaries among the fishermen. They also presented 15 gifts to underprivileged students and supported three students with exceptional difficulties with a financial assistance of VND 9 million each. Additionally, 200 national flags and 20 first aid kits were given to fishing boats in the area.

Colonel Tran Xuan Thang, Head of the Department of Political Affairs of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, stated that through the program, his unit aimed to continue raising the awareness and responsibilities of the people in An Son island commune in adhering to Vietnamese laws, as well as providing support to help them overcome difficulties.

Simultaneously, the program sought to enhance the effectiveness of coordination between local authorities and people with the Vietnamese coast guard force in carrying out their tasks in managing, safeguarding sovereignty, and enforcing laws at sea, he stressed.
