In the recent “Border spring warms up people’s hearts” program at the Border Post of Tra Linh International Border Gate co-held by the Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command, the women’s unions of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen province, and Cao Bang provincial Department of Health, the organizers provided local people with free health check-ups and medicines, and wrapped Chung cakes. Border guards and Women’s Union members also had sport, artistic exchanges and played folk games with local ethnic minority people.

Such activities were especially significant to ensure a cozy Tet for local policy beneficiaries and poor households. They also demonstrated the tradition of the Vietnamese people that “the good leaves protect tattered ones.” In addition, they showed the good sentiments and responsibilities of the border guards, local party committees, authorities, organizations, and other units towards ethnic minority groups in border areas who always stand side-by-side and give support to border guards to manage and defend the border of the nation.
As part of the program, the organizers presented 165 gifts to local policy beneficiary and disadvantaged families, poor students with good academic results, and other students of the program “Paving the way to school for children – Adopted children of border posts.”
The Cao Bang provincial Border Guard Command also awarded certificates of merit to 12 reputable people in border areas and typical households for their outstanding performance in the movement entitled “All people join hands in safeguarding national sovereignty, border security in the new situation.”

* On January 6, Tam Hop Border Post of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command, the People’s Committee of Tam Hop commune, Nghe An province’s Tuong Duong district, Nghe An Youth Volunteer Group No.9 and other units held a similar program in the commune.
The organizers handed over and put into operation a solar-powered lighting project stretching 1.5 kilometers, presented two great unity houses, 50 Tet gifts to poor households and students of the “Paving the way to school for children – Adopted children of border posts” program, and 50 breeding pigs of the “Accompanying farmers in escaping poverty” model to poor households. They organized chung cake-wrapping and health check-up and medicine provision events as well.
The program aimed to bring a cozy Tet to the ethnic minority people in border areas in the spirit of “Leave no one behind,” and “For peaceful and happy life of border people.”

* The same day, the women’s unions of Gia Lai province, Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command and the provincial Public Security Department and other sponsors launched “Spring of solidarity – Tet in border areas” program in Ia Puch commune, Chu Prong district.
Many meaningful activities held in the program included law dissemination about “border commune free from drugs,” presentation of one computer set to the commune’s women’s union, handover of 200 gifts to local women’s union members, and 20 gifts to local students, and connectivity and introduction of border women’s products.
