This is the first time Army Corps 18’s helicopter transporting patients from Truong Sa Island Infirmary has officially landed at the roof of the Injury and Orthopedic Hospital of Military Hospital 175.

As reported, the patient, Nguyen Hung, born in 1973, was a fisherman aboard trawler QNg 96435 TS. Seven days ago, Hung suffered from severe coughing, chest pain and heavy breathing. At 7:00 p.m. on February 23, Hung was transported to Truong Sa Island Infirmary.

The patient was taken to the Emergency Department through a dedicated route.

At the infirmary, he was tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 three times. Then doctors of the infirmary gave first aid to him and had an online health consultancy via the telemedicine system with medical experts of Military Hospital 175. As a result, Hung was diagnosed with respiratory failure due to extensive pneumonia complicated by left pneumothorax with unknown causes. The patient needed to be brought to the mainland due to the bad development of his condition.

Upon receiving the request, Army Corps 18 sent the AS332 L2 helicopter to pick up the medical staff of Military Hospital 175 at Tan Son Nhat Airport and pick up the patient in Truong Sa island district.

The patient then was taken to the Emergency Department of Military Hospital 175 for further treatment.
