VPA’s General Department of Politics concludes Truong Sa visit
PANO – From April 3 to 12, a delegation of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), led by its Deputy Director Lieutenant General Do Can, visited and inspected units and localities in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.
During the visit, they offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh at his memorial house on Truong Sa Island and to heroic martyrs at monuments on several islands, visited local authorities and people, and held a solemn ceremony to commemorate Vietnamese soldiers who laid down their lives to safeguard national sovereignty over the seas and islands.

On behalf of the delegation, General Can received a national flag and a commemorative book from Truong Sa soldiers and islanders, and he will hand over these items to the Vietnam Military History Museum.
At a meeting, General Can highly appreciated achievements of Truong Sa soldiers and people over the past time, especially in promoting training and combat readiness quality, building regularity, ensuring political and Party work, and building strong Party organizations.
The general asked them to further overcome current difficulties, raise revolutionary vigilance, and strengthen soldiers' political stance to firmly protect the national sovereignty over the seas and islands.
