PANO – A Vietnamese high-ranking military political delegation, led by Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich, Head of the General Department of Politics, on October 19th visited the Kaysone Phomvihane National Defence Academy during its working visit to Laos.
The Academy Director, Chansamone Chanyarath, thanked Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich and other Vietnamese delegates for their visit to the Academy and for sharing experiences on education and building-up the unit..
Director Chansamone Chanyarath also briefed the Vietnamese delegates of the Academy’s development and achievements since 1996 and thanked them for the valuable assistance from the Vietnam’s Defence Ministry, the General Department of Politics and the National Defence Academy.
The Kaysone Phomvihane National Defence Academy is Laos’ largest academy to train high-ranking officers of the Lao People’s Army and provides national defence and security knowledge to Lao Party and State leaders. During the past years, with the whole-hearted support of the Vietnam People’s Army in general and the Vietnam National Defence Academy, the Kaysone Phomvihane National Defence Academy has fulfilled well all its assigned tasks.
By now, 75 per cent of the Academy’s cadres and lecturers have post-graduate degrees; among them 15 per cent are PhDs, added Director Chansamone Chanyarath.
For his part, Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich highly valued the great efforts of all cadres, lecturers and cadets of the Academy and exchanged with the Academy’s leaders on education, training and Party-building and ideological works.
Lieutenant-General Ngo Xuan Lich recorded some proposals of Director Chansamone Chanyarath and promised to assign relevant agencies of the General Department of Politics to work out best plans for further cooperation with the Lao Kaysone Phomvihane Defence Academy and believed that this effective cooperation would contribute to strengthening the traditional and special friendlship between two nations, the two Parties and the two armies of Vietnam and Laos..
