The conference was organized by the Defense Ministry under the chair of Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army.

It aimed to evaluate the outcomes of activities conducted in the past time by the National Liaison Board of former Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos in celebration of the 70th Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos.

Reports at the meeting read that over the past time Central Military Commission, Ministry of Defense and GDP gave specific instructions to the liaison board and relevant agencies and units on the organization of activities to observe this meaningful event.

Following the directions from the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat, leaders of GDP worked with the liaison board, relevant agencies and units to outline a program to celebrate the anniversary in consultation with senior military officers.

On October 3, the Defense Ministry issued the program.

Under the program, the liaison board, relevant agencies and units well conducted various activities toward the 70th Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos.

In his concluding remarks, General Nghia lauded military units for their good implementation of the program with various meaningful activities to mark the event.

At the same time, he requested all relevant agencies and units to continue the celebration as scheduled, especially in boosting information dissemination about the merits of Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Experts in Laos and well preparing for the day.
