The outcomes have been announced by the Department for Search and Rescue of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Office of the National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.

Regarding the fire at Rang Dong Company, the Ministry of National Defense collected more than 40 tons of mercury-contaminated waste and sprayed around 4 tons of chemicals to prevent mercury from spreading into the environment.

The units also announced that during the period more than 40 accidents and incidents happened, killing 12 people, injuring seven others, leaving two missing, burning 37 factories, destroying 15 hectare of forest, wrecking 115 houses, and damaging 1,530 hectares of crops. 

The National Committee for Disaster Response and Search and Rescue instructed ministries, agencies, and localities to mobilize 9,920 people and 112 vehicles of different kinds to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and incidents, saving 37 lives.
