Particularly, troops of Division 968 of Military Region 4 arrived in Tan Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district, Quang Binh, to clean up mud on roads and in submerged public facilities, and re-arrange furniture for local households.
Prolonged rains due to the recent tropical depression submerged houses and crops in the commune. The total damage is estimated at over VND 15 billion.
In the coming days, Division 968’s troops will continue to help locals overcome disaster consequences and resume their normal lives.
Meanwhile, heavy rains and whirlwinds have claimed four lives, flooded 64 communes with over 5,500 households, submerged thousands of hectares of rice, crops and fruit trees, damaged 350 hectares of aquatic farms, and ripped off the roofs of 41 houses.
The Ha Tinh provincial Military Command has mobilized nearly 3,000 troops with tens of vehicles to handle the aftermath of natural disasters.
They have helped local residents repair houses, clean up the environment, disinfect and sterilize infected areas, provided free health check-ups and medicines, and dredged irrigation canals and sewers, to name but a few.
