Tank Brigade 201 receives noble order
PANO - Tank Brigade 201 of the Armored Corps held a ceremony on November 16 to mark the 50th anniversary of its founding day (November 18, 1971-2021) and receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order.
Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang sent a congratulatory letter to the brigade.
Fifty years ago, on November 18, 1971, the defense ministry decided to establish Tank Regiment 201. The unit was then upgraded to Tank Brigade 201 under Decision 144 of the Ministry of National Defense on October 25, 1973.
Since then, the brigade has become a spare mobile strategic unit of the Defense Ministry for combat readiness and unexpected missions.
Over the past time, troops of the brigade have always been determined to overcome hardships, improve combined combat strength, contributing to building a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually-modernized unit.
Notably, the unit has made impressive achievements at the International Army Games 2021 in Russia, contributing to affirming the position and power of the Vietnam People’s Army in general and the Vietnamese armored forces in particular in the international arena.
Speaking at the event, Major General Do Dinh Thanh, Commanding General of the Armored Corps, spoke highly of the brigade’s achievements over the past time. He urged them to continue to improve their training quality, adjust combat plans in accordance with the real situations, and master their weapons and equipment.
