Standing Deputy Prime Minister extend Tet wishes to border troops
PANO - Politburo Member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh on January 12 visited and extended Tet wishes and offered gifts to troops at the Mobile Training Battalion of the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command.
At the event, Colonel Bui Van Hung, Commander of the Battalion, briefed the delegation on the unit’s results of implementing political missions.
Last year, in addition to training recruits, the unit regularly provided reinforcements to the Border Guard Stations in key areas, closely followed situations, and promptly gave proposals to the provincial Border Guard Command and higher-level agencies to deal with emerging situations.
The unit has also maintained combat readiness, supervised the borderline and border marker system, and firmly ensured the border security.
Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Binh praised the unit's achievements over the past time and asked the unit's chain-of-command and troops to proactively follow situations, overcome difficulties and uphold the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldier, successfully fulfill all assigned political missions, and firmly safeguard the national territorial sovereignty and border security.
In addition, the unit should take good care of troops' material and spiritual lives and help them enjoy a happy and cozy lunar New Year (Tet) holiday, he added.
