It was stated by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army at the meeting held by the GDP’s Department of Policy on February 25 in Ho Chi Minh City in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the Military Policy Sector (February 26).

At the meeting, delegates highlighted great contributions of the sector to the national salvation cause and to the renewal process and the national construction and protection at present.

Congratulating the sector on their achievements and development as well as the efforts of its generations of staff, Gen. Nghia tasked the unit to continue studying thoroughly the Party’s standpoints, directives and the State’s policies and law as well as the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense’s directives on policy work; and to fully grasp and strictly implement the tasks in line with characteristics of military activities.

He also asked the unit to step up gratitude activities, search and repatriation of martyrs’ remains, promote integrated strengths and actively coordinate with ministries, central departments, units and localities to better the dissemination of the work and mobilization of resources to well implement policies relating to troops and their families and national contributors.

The sector was also requested to pay due attention to build a contingent of cadres with firm stand on politics and thoughts, good expertise and high sense of responsibility; and to build strong and pure party cells and comprehensively strong military policy sector that could meet new requirements and undertake new missions.
