The event was part of activities in celebration of the 80th foundation anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-people Defense Festive Day.
Through the seminar, the organizing panel continued to affirm and clarify the theoretical and practical basis for maintaining and upholding the VPA’s good traditions; and building a revolutionary, regular, elite and modern VPA.
At the seminar, participants affirmed that the birth of the VPA was the inevitable result of the sound revolutionary policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh’s thought on military affairs. They focused on analyzing and deepening the VPA’s good traditions - the virtues of Uncle Ho's soldiers who are absolutely loyal to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and wholeheartedly serve the Fatherland and people.

Meanwhile, researchers and scientists discussed, clarified and affirmed that upholding the traditions of the heroic VPA, the Military Political Academy, Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel), Subcommittee for Defense-Security-External Affairs of the Central Theoretical Council have made important contribution to the cause of national construction and safeguarding.
Also, delegates proposed solutions to further maintain and promote the good traditions of the military, meeting the task requirements of building and safeguarding the Fatherland in the new period.
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Bao, Director of the Military Political Academy emphasized the significance of the seminar, saying that it served as a basis to continue to affirm the VPA’s good traditions.

He required officers, instructors, cadets, staff and soldiers of the three units to raise responsibility to promote their units’ traditions and accomplish all assigned duties; contribute to raising the quality of education, training and scientific research; combine economic development with national defense and security; give recommendations on military-defense and security tasks; and build a comprehensively-strong, “typical and exemplary” units, meeting the task requirement of Fatherland safeguarding in the new situation.
