Project to construct a border patrol road in Kien Giang inspected
PANO – A high-ranking military delegation led by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, yesterday paid a fact-finding trip to inspect the construction progress of the border patrol road in Kien Giang province.
The delegation was accompanied by representatives of the Ministry of National Defense, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the Engineer Corps, and the Military Region 9 Command.
During the visit, the delegation inspected several sections of the border patrol road located in areas of Kien Giang province and Cambodian localities. The border patrol road is being constructed by Military Region 9 under the approval of the Ministry of National Defense.
Addressing the event, General Nam praised the efforts of relevant units and local authorities in the construction of the road. He suggested they should well cooperate and overcome unfavorable weather conditions to fulfill the project as planned. In addition, he asked the localities to provider favorable conditions for the project implementation.
On this occasion, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff wished local troops and authorities of Giang Thanh district and Kien Giang province a happy and cozy Tet.
