PANO - A working delegation of the Department of Popularization and Training under the General Department of Politics, led by its Director Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tuan, has visited units involved in constructing the border patrol road through Phu Vai Lai Leng Mountain in Ky Son district, Nghe An province.

The delegation inspecting a newly-built section

General Tuan praised efforts of these units in constructing one of the most difficult parts of the road and asked the Project Management Board 47 of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army to honor the most outstanding individuals with initiatives and achievements in the road construction.

The border patrol road goes through 25 provinces with two most difficult parts crossing Ngoc Linh Mountain in the Central Highlands and Phu Vai Lai Leng Mountain in Ky Son district, one of the 62 poorest districts of Vietnam. In spite of difficulties due to unfavourable weather and geographical conditions, 80% of the total length of the road has been completed thanks to utmost efforts of construction units, especially Army Corps 12 after four years of construction and the mobilization of specific machines.

In the coming time, the department will work with relevant organs to develop popularization program of the border patrol road as well as organize fact-finding tours for reporters to the construction sites to make public outstanding examples in this project.
