MND starts inspecting provincial commanders and political commissars
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) opened a 2017 inspection for commanders and political commissars of centrally-governed cities and provinces’ military commands on July 3 in Hanoi.

Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Deputy Defense Minister and Head of the organizing panel of the inspection; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Chief of the General Staff; and Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, were present at the four-day event.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang emphasized the staff role of cities and provinces’ military commands, their organization of defensive area exercises, building firm defensive areas, upholding local political security and social order and safety as well as directing local armed forces to conduct defensive operation to defeat enemies’ invasion, contributing to developing local socio-economy and firmly defending national security and territorial sovereignty.
Gen. Giang asked the organizers and juries to make accurate and objective assessment and the contestants to observe military regulations and discipline to get good results.
