At the conference, delegates listened to a report highlighting the defense ministry’s leadership over military-defense missions last month. The ministry’s leaders directed all defense agencies and military units to comprehensively implement military-defense missions, particularly in maintaining a firm combat readiness posture and providing timely advice for senior levels to promptly deal with unexpected issues in any circumstances.

The whole military carried out training for troops on schedule with good test results in the first half of 2020. They conducted search and rescue as required, helped people overcome natural disasters, and promoted defense external affairs, while ensuring political and ideological education for troops and information dissemination for people, especially in response to sensitive matters in preparation for the Party congresses at all levels.

Meanwhile, military discipline and regulations have been tightened while logistical, technical, and defense industry related tasks have been fulfilled effectively.

Speaking at the event, General Lich praised the remarkable outcomes of military units and defense agencies. At the same time, he pointed out shortcomings in their task performances over the past time.

The defense minister ordered them to continue maintaining combat readiness, closely following all situations and providing timely advice for the Party and State to proactively deal with unexpected scenarios in the time to come.

He underlined that relevant forces should ensure communications between the leadership and the units across the military while enhancing border management and fighting drug crimes, human trafficking, and trade fraud.

The defense minister went on to say that the military units should enhance political, ideological, and legal education for troops and prepare and successfully organize the 11th Military Party Congress.

He urged the whole military units to continuously ensure logistical supplies for all tasks, especially training for combat readiness, safeguarding national sovereignty over seas and islands, and ensuring troops’ lives.
