MND collects opinions for draft report on military and defense missions
PANO – The Ministry of National Defense (MND) held a conference on June 8 to discuss preparations for reviewing the whole military’s implementation of military and defense missions in the first six months of 2020.
The event was chaired by Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang and attended by Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics Senior Lieutenant General Do Can and representatives of general departments and agencies under the MND and General Staff, arms and services, among others.
The draft report delivered at the conference focused on reviewing military units’ achievements, pointing out their shortcomings in carrying out military and defense missions over the past time, and mapping out the orientation for missions in the last half of 2020.
After the report delivery, delegates discussed and gave constructive opinions on achievements, shortcomings, causes, and orientation for missions in the second half. These ideas will help the Office of the MND complete the report.
Speaking at the conference, General Giang praised the Office of the MND and relevant agencies for building a good draft report on military and defense work in the first six months of this year. He also lauded the participants’ opinions highlighting the significance of advisory work to the Party and State.
General Giang asked the Office of the MND to collect opinions at the meeting to complete the report. He also concluded some preparations for the conference to review military and defense missions in the first half of this year which is slated for late June.
