The event was chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong and attended by Deputy Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh municipal People’s Committee.
At the event, delegates agreed that over the past time, the working groups of the MND and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City have effectively carried out 22 contents related to the coordination in military-defense tasks associated with socio-economic development in the city. These tasks have been implemented on schedule, safely, and in accordance with legal regulations, especially in land clearance and recovery, thus ensuring the effective performance of military-defense tasks linked with socio-economic development in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the conference, delegates discussed and proposed that the MND collaborate with the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to survey and implement housing projects for military officials and soldiers, linked with social housing projects for other target groups in the city.
Speaking at the event, General Luong praised relevant agencies, units, organizations, and sectors for their pro-activeness in jointly carrying out contents related to military-defense tasks in association with socio-economic development in Ho Chi Minh City during the past period.
Regarding missions in the future, he urged the two working groups to meet once a month to address any challenges in a timely manner; assign specific responsibilities to each relevant agency, unit, and department in advising and organizing the implementation of specific projects and tasks.
Each agency, unit, and department should continue to coordinate in reviewing, assessing, and identifying the issues and obstacles, and propose measures for the successful implementation of military-defense tasks linked with socio-economic development in Ho Chi Minh City, developing the city sustainably and building comprehensively strong agencies and units.
