The conference was co-chaired by Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To.
Reportedly, in the first half of 2022, under the leadership of the Central Military Commission, the Central Public Security Party Committee, and the two minitries’ leaderships, the two forces collaborated well to implement the resolution, providing timely advice for the Party and State on ensuring national defense and security, protecting important places and events of the country, and defeating tricks and plots of hostile forces.
The military and public security forces implemented mass mobilization and the “Whole-people joining hands to safeguard national security” movement while coordinating to fight against crimination.
For the second half of the year, the two forces plan to continue to collaborate closely, grasp all situations, and provide timely and appropriate recommendations for the Party and State to reinforce national defense and security, social order and safety, contributing to serving the national socio-economic development and foreign policy.
Speaking at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong stressed that the two ministries’ units and agencies should focus on implementing several key contents such as improving the quality of defense-security education, raising the public awareness of the responsibility of building and safeguarding the Fatherland in the current context.
The two forces need to actively reinforce the political system at all levels in strategic and remote areas, enhance civilian-military solidarity combined with building new-style rural areas, he added.
On the other hands, the defense official suggested the two forces maintain combat readiness and prepare personnel and vehicles for all missions while enhancing the fight against all kinds of crimes.
