Defense mission inspecting combat readiness at Regiment 102 |
On inspecting the combat readiness of the two units, General Nam hailed the good task performances of the two regiments in training and asked Regiment 102 to continue strictly observing military discipline, law and traffic safety, and organizing training for its troops.
Meanwhile, Regiment 218 was requested to closely work with other units and local authorities to grasp regional situations so as to ensure political security and social order.
* On the same day, a delegation, led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Huynh Chien Thang, visited and worked with the Military Region 4 Command and its affiliated units, including Division 324, Tan Ky district military Command (the Nghe An provincial Military Command); and Brigade 206.
Hailing the units’ great efforts and achievements in 2020, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff urged them to grasp all situations in the areas where they are stationed, strictly maintain combat readiness, organize training programs to be ready in any circumstances, contributing to ensuring political security and safety, especially ahead of the 13th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.

* Also on January 13, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien had a working session at Infantry Brigade 575 (Military Region 1). He highly appreciated the unit’s task performance, asking them to promote its achievements while strictly embracing the resolutions and directions of higher levels and raising combat readiness and training quality.
On this occasion, General Tien attended a get-together for retired senior officers of Military Region 1.
* A similar delegation, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, visited and extended Tet greetings to troops of Air Defense Division 370 of the Air Defense - Air Force Service and Brigade 84, under the Electronic Warfare Department of the General Staff.
In acknowledgement of their efforts in overcoming difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions, General Nghia also asked the unit to embrace all resolutions and directions of higher levels in combat readiness in preparation for the upcoming 13th National Party Congress and Tet 2021.
On this occasion, General Nghia also visited and extended Tet greetings to troops of the General Staff’s affiliated units in Ho Chi Minh City.
* Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan led a delegation to inspect combat readiness at the Tam Thanh Border Post of the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command.
Over the past time, the border post has strictly maintained combat readiness while both protecting the border areas and implementing COVID-19 prevention and control.
General Tan applauded the great efforts of the unit in carrying out disaster and pandemic prevention and search and rescue missions. He also requested them to promptly overcome shortcomings and limitations to firmly protect national sovereignty over seas and islands, ensure security for the upcoming 13th National Party Congress and the Lunar New Year 2021.
