Military unit receives noble title

Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Defense Minister, attended the event.

Department 701 of the General Department 2 of the Ministry of National Defense received the “Hero of the People’s Armed Force” title.

At the ceremony, leaders of Department 701 briefed delegates on the heroic traditions and resounding victories of the unit over the time. Particularly, the unit provided timely advice for higher levels, fully their functioned and fulfilled all assigned missions. In the time to come, the unit will build a firm and strong force in terms of politics and ideology.

On behalf of the State President, General Giang presented the “Hero of the People’s Armed Force” title to leaders of Department 701. The Party and State’s award aims to recognize the contributions of the staff and employees of Department 701.

Addressing the ceremony, the Chief of the General Staff applauded the unit’s achievements over the past time and stressed that the award is not only a great honor but also a responsibility that required all of the staff and employees of the unit to continue to overcome hardships and complete all assigned tasks.
