On June 20, 2023, Military Hospital 175 was recognized by the Ministry of Health as the 25th medical facility in the country qualified to perform the techniques of removing and transplanting kidneys from living donors and brain-dead donors. To date, with the active support of Central Military Hospital 108, Military Hospital 175 has successfully implemented six kidney transplants.
Earlier from September, 2022 to April, 2023, Central Military Hospital 108 provided organ transplant technique training for 76 trainees, including 50 doctors. Military Hospital 175 has established 11 teams for the kidney transplant program with the participation of 26 related departments, divisions, centers, and institutes. Central Military Hospital 108 sent six groups of experts to conduct kidney transplant technique transfers at Military Hospital 175. Military Hospital 175’s first kidney transplant was performed on July 11, 2023.

Until now, Military Hospital 175 has mastered some steps in the kidney transplant procedures and is striving to master all.
Speaking at the conference, Director of Military Hospital 175 Major General Tran Quoc Viet thanked Central Military Hospital 108 for the wholehearted support to the hospital in personnel training and kidney transplant technique transfer, which is considered a firm foundation for the hospital to comprehensively develop.

He affirmed that the outcomes of the first stage demonstrated the efforts and determination of medical personnel of the two hospitals. The achievements came from the efforts of participating doctors and nurses as well as the support of other medical establishments inside and outside the military and social insurance agencies.
In the coming time, Military Hospital 175 will bring into play obtained outcomes and continue to enhance its personnel’s competence in performing kidney transplant operations, contributing to saving more people and lifting the level of the military hospital.
