Along with the new items, war veterans at the ceremony also shared emotional stories and memories linked to the keepsakes.

Notably, the Ho Chi Minh City War Remnants Museum donated a collection of 100 pictures, themed “I love Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, painted by Ho Chi Minh City’s children, selected from the “Green brushwork” contest, to the VMHM.

Huynh Ngoc Van, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City War Remnants Museum said that the selected pictures depicted images of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in training and production activities. This meaningful gift is expected to encourage troops who are day and night firmly safeguarding national sovereignty, she said.
