Senior Lieutenant-General Le Huu Duc, Deputy Defence Minister, attended the event.

Over the past 50 years of construction and growth, many generations of staff, doctors and nurses in the Department took challenges in stride to successfully fulfil assigned tasks and successfully build the Maxillofacial and Plastic Surgery unit, which has been highly appreciated by Vietnamese and international doctors.

The department treated many war veterans wounded in resistance wars against invaders, as well as trained many generations of doctors and nurses, making contributions to the success of the nation in general, and of the army medical corps in particular.

For its good results, the Vietnamese President decided to grant the title of “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” to the Department.
