The delegation, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, laid wreath and offered incense in commemoration of great contributions by President Ho Chi Minh.

Over the past three years, the movement has attracted the active and responsible participation of troops in the whole army, showing the Army’s strong sense of responsibility to the Party, State, and people as well as troops’ love for beloved Uncle Ho. It has become a driving force for troops to overcome challenges and promote their self-reliance and creativity to obtain more achievements.

Recorded results have contributed to raising the political and combat strength of the Vietnam People’s Army to firmly protect the nation in the current context and the quality of Party building work, consolidating military-civilian relations, and strengthen people’s trust. Troops’ achievements in mass mobilization helped improve mountainous people’s living standards dramatically and promote the beautiful traditions of the Vietnamese people “When drinking water, remember its source” and “Gratitude”.  

In acknowledgement of their all-out efforts, the Party and State honored 26 groups and individuals with the titles of Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and Labor Hero in the renewal process. Hundreds of others were presented with flags and certificates by the Government and Ministry of National Defense.

On behalf of the delegation, General Nghia affirmed that the Vietnamese troops will be absolutely loyal to the Party, State, Nation, and People, consistent with the revolutionary ideal and goals, and a loyal and reliable political and combat force of the Party, State, and people. Military units will heighten vigilance and be determined to foil all schemes of hostile forces to firmly protect the national independence, sovereignty, unity, and integrity. He added that the whole army will successfully carry out Resolutions of the 12th Party Congress and the 10th Military Party Congress, and be a vanguard force in studying and flowing President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morals, and lifestyle and combating degradation, corruption, “self-evolution”, “self-transformation”, strengthen military-people relations, and build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and increasingly modern army. Troops will unite and be ready to undertake and successfully fulfill all assigned missions, making contributions to brightening the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.

After the ceremony, the delegates visited Kim Lien Relic Site, President Ho Chi Minh’s hometown in Nam Dan district, Nghe An province.
