The city’s border troops maintained four stations on duty around the clock, ready for natural disaster prevention and control and search and rescue; regularly broadcast information about the third storm and directed units to use the unit's existing information system, control stations, and local working teams to closely coordinate with families of ship owners, captains, fishermen and local authorities to provide information related to the storm for vehicle owners and people operating at sea, and guide them to take shelter in safe areas.

The command has maintained on-duty troops around the clock and prepared enough vehicles for storm prevention and control, while strictly observing combat readiness posture and collaborating with other units stationed in the locality to stay ready for any circumstances.

Lt. Gen. Nguyen Doan Anh required the unit to continue to strictly implement the Prime Minister’s dispatch and higher levels’ directions. Troops of the unit should fully prepare equipment, vehicles, food, medicines, etc., and be ready to help people cope with the third storm, minimizing property damage for people.

The GS deputy chief also noted that the units should identify coordination mechanisms with local authorities and complete plans for search and rescue operations, focusing on key areas, coastal localities and islands. In addition, the units must ensure safety of the people, including families of troops in storm-hit areas and those with harsh conditions.
