At the event, Maj. Gen. Nguyen Ba Luc handed over the duty of Commander of Army Corps 34 to Lt. Gen. Dao Tuan Anh.
According to the Prime Minister’s Decision No.821 dated April 24, 2025, Commander of Army Corps 34 Maj. Gen. Nguyen Ba Luc was appointed as Deputy Chief of the General Staff. Deputy Director of the National Defense Academy Lt. Gen. Dao Tuan Anh was appointed as Commander of Army Corps 34, following the Defense Minister’s Decision 133.
Maj. Gen. Nguyen Ba Luc is a senior officer with a long-standing commitment to the Central Highlands region, having held various key positions in Army Corps 3 (now Army Corps 34). In his role as Commander of former Army Corps 3 and now Army Corps 34, he and the corps’ leadership successfully led and directed the unit to accomplish all assigned tasks.
Speaking at the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vo Minh Luong congratulated Maj. Gen. Nguyen Ba Luc and Lt. Gen. Dao Tuan Anh on their new assignments. He requested Gen. Luc to continue sharing updates and experience in managing and commanding a regular unit with Gen. Anh, finalizing all necessary handover documents and taking on his new role according to regulations.
The deputy defense minister urged the new Commander of Army Corps 34 to uphold a high sense of responsibility, carefully study and grasp all aspects of the unit’s operations, closely follow the leadership resolutions of the Central Military Commission and Army Corps 34’s Party Committee in 2025, review all current tasks, and develop measures to raise combat readiness capability, quality of training and regularity building. Additionally, Gen. Luong emphasized the importance of closely following higher levels’ directives and plans regarding Party congresses at all levels, leading up to the 14th National Party Congress.

The defense leader also highlighted the need to raise the quality of political and ideological work, Party-building efforts, management, education and training for officers and Party members.
Earlier the same day, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vo Minh Luong inspected the construction site of Sao Mai Kindergarten of Company 75 under Corps 15. During the visit, the defense leader presented gifts to the construction teams and the school.
