At Military Hospital 175, Gen. Phan Van Giang inquired after Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Thanh Cung, former Deputy Defense Minister. The defense minister briefed the former senior defense leader on outstanding results of the military-defense task performance, and at the same time hoped that Gen. Cung will continue giving opinions to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to help build a revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually-modernized military, contributing to firmly safeguarding the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in any circumstances.

Also at the hospital, General Giang visited and offered gifts to Maj. Gen. Vo Minh Nhu, former Deputy Commander of Military Region 7 and Lt. Gen. Tran Nam Phi, former Deputy Director of General Department 2. In addition, he presented gift and encouraged Non-commissioned Major Bui Thi Xoa, a medical staff of the Level-two Field Hospital Rotation 3 in South Sudan. Previously, Xoa suffered a stroke and infected with COVID-19 when implementing tasks at the United Nations Mission in South Sudan. She then was taken back to the country for treatment and is recovering.

The same day, the defense minister inspected combat readiness and task performance of Air Divisions 370 and 367 under the Air Defense - Air Force Service.

During the working sessions with the units’ leaderships, General Giang was briefed on the units’ task performance over the past time. He spoke highly of the efforts of the two units’ troops in undertaking their missions while asking them to continue embracing higher levels’ instructions and directives, contributing to fulfilling all assigned missions and firmly protecting the national airspace, sea, islands, and Southern continental shelf.
