Defense leader welcomes delegation of National Defense University of China
PANO - On June 26, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnamese People's Army, received a delegation of officials and students from the Joint Operations Academy of the National Defense University of China.

The delegation was led by Major General Zhang Changsheng, Political Commissar of the Joint Operations Academy under the Chinese National Defense University, who came to Vietnam for a friendly exchange and working visit.
Gen. Tan warmly welcomed Maj. Gen. Zhang Changsheng and the delegation to Vietnam, expressing his belief that the visit would enhance mutual trust and understanding and establish cooperative relationships between academies, universities, and functional agencies of the two militaries.
The Vietnamese deputy chief of the General Staff believed that Vietnam - China defense cooperation is developing, achieving practical results in various fields. It is one of the important pillars in the relationship between the two parties and two states, in line with the spirit of the Joint Statement reached by both sides after Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's official visit to China in November 2022. Accordingly, the two sides will continue to promote effective cooperation in areas such as delegation exchanges, border defense friendship exchanges, strategic defense dialogues at the deputy ministerial level of the Ministry of National Defense, joint patrols at sea by the navies and coast guards, coordination in managing and protecting land borders, military medical cooperation, and mutual support in COVID-19 prevention and control.
Gen. Tan affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the General Staff of the Vietnamese People's Army always support exchanges and the sharing of experience between academies, universities, and research institutions of the two countries.
Maj. Gen. Zhang Changsheng expressed gratitude to Lt. Gen. Phung Si Tan for receiving the delegation and expressed his confidence that Vietnam - China defense cooperation would continue to be promoted and effectively implemented. He emphasized that exchanges and experience sharing between the two militaries' academies, universities, and research institutions would be an area of priority in the future.
