In particular, the visiting delegation inspected the progress of the construction of the Headquarters of the Military Region 5 Command and was briefed on the military region’s implementation of military and defense missions in the first quarter of this year and its public investment disbursement.
Notably, over the past time, Military Region 5 has thoroughly grasped and strictly carried out the Party’s guideline and State’s policies on national construction and defense in the new situation; regularly cooperated with local party committees and authorities and forces to comprehensively carry out military and defense missions, party building, building of the whole people’s defense posture in combination with whole people’s security posture and military region defensive posture. The military region has conducted the appraisal of socio-economic development projects in terms of defense.
In the first quarter of this year, units under Military Region 5 successfully kick-started the training season in 2023, made thorough preparations for training, consolidated training facilities, and ensured logistic and technical supplies for tasks.
Regarding public investment disbursement, the military region has directed units to carry out projects following plans approved by the Ministry of National Defense. Its construction of the Headquarters of the Military Region 5 Command has received the attention of functional agencies to ensure the progress and best quality of the project and absolute safety.

Concluding the working session with Military Region 5’s representatives, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San highly appreciated the efforts of troops in carrying out assigned tasks. He asked the military region to continue to closely follow and accurately forecast situational developments, thus giving recommendations to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to deal with circumstances in an effective manner.
Agencies and units under the military region should strictly actualize resolutions, directives, and documents on military and defense missions in 2023 and focus on building strong Party organizations capable of completing assigned missions.
The deputy defense minister noted that Military Region 5 should closely collaborate with functional agencies to well actualize regulations on building barracks in an economical and scientific manner, ensuring convenience for troops’ work and life.
