Defense leader inspects preparation for upcoming parade

Chief of General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army and Deputy Minister of National Defense General Nguyen Tan Cuong attended and presided over the event.

The second grand rehearsal drew the participation of the military, public security, self-defense, and the air forces. The program consisted of two parts: the ceremony and the parade. The participating forces followed the plan and set targets, so as to prepare for the upcoming anniversary.

Reviewing the second grand rehearsal, General Nguyen Tan Cuong hailed the spirit, responsibility, and results achieved by the participating units. Despite harsh weather conditions, they overcame challenges and showed strong determination during training, achieving better results and quality compared to the previous rehearsal. General Cuong urged the units to continue training, address existing issues, and improve quality in preparation for the upcoming event. He also emphasized that participants in the parade should attach much importance to their movements.

The defense leader pointed out that the whole nation is waiting for the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day, especially the parade. Therefore, the units should overcome all difficulties to excel in their tasks. General Nguyen Tan Cuong reminded the flight crews to ensure proper distance, speed, and spacing, carefully check the national flag on aircraft, and ensuring absolute safety. He also requested that all units should thoroughly inspect weapons and equipment, ensuring the aircraft’s technical service and safety. In addition, regular health check-ups and proper nutrition must be ensured for the troops.

After the rehearsal, General Nguyen Tan Cuong inquired after the units and presented gifts to the parade participants. On this occasion, Military Region 7 and the Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee also handed over meaningful gifts to encourage the forces participating in the parade.
