On behalf of the Party Committee and the Chain-of-Command of the Commando Corps, Commander of the Commando Corps Major General Hoang Minh Son launched the festival, as part of the activities to mark the 95th anniversary of the foundation day of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3) and the 58th anniversary of the establishment of the heroic Commando Corps (March 19th, 1967 - 2025) and to respond to the Government’s program of planting one billion trees for a greener Vietnam.
Over the past year, under the leadership and direction of Brigade 429’s Party Committee and Chain-of-Command, the unit has organized many tree-planting and environmental protection programs, significantly contributing to responding to climate change and improving the unit's environmental landscape. Annually in the spring, thousands of trees are planted by the unit.

General Son emphasized that since 2021, the entire Commando Corps has planted over 95,000 trees of different kinds and afforest nearly 350 hectares of forest, contributing significantly to greening barren land and hills; pro-actively responded to natural disasters; improved the ecological environment. In 2024, the Commando Corps encouraged agencies and units in the whole force to plant 38,815 trees and afforest 46 hectares of forest.
Commending the efforts of Brigade 429 in planting, caring for trees, and improving the environment, the Commander of the Commando Corps also requested the brigade to continue researching and developing suitable tree planting plan and create conditions for agencies, units, and mass organizations, such as the Youth Union, Women's Union, and Trade Union chapters to actively participate.

After the ceremony, units under Brigade 429 will continue to participate in the tree planting activity with the goal of planting more than 2,000 trees of various types.
